About the artist.

Artist * Writer * Dreamer

I’m a New Englander with a passion for animals and the environment. When working towards my BFA in Illustration and Creative Writing at the Art Institute of Boston, class was regularly held at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Soon I was hooked, studying organisms and systems in the natural world with as much enthusiasm as the expressive brushwork in a Renoir landscape at the Museum of Fine Arts. Most of my free time was spent at the Boston Aquarium and the Public Library, where I could be found clutching an anthology of fairytales, Greek mythology or contemporary novels. I believe art and language are interchangeable. Artists create stories with pigments and authors create pictures with words.

After graduating college, I worked as an art director at a nonprofit for homeless youth. I designed the interior for 6 buildings, including fun spaces for kids to feel safe, get therapy and heal. These spaces were glow in the dark basketball courts, art studios, game rooms, etc. I also created promotional content for digital platforms and print, as well as an 800 square foot mural. I’ve been writing full time this year to create a body of work that reflects the 21st century and can be used to spark compassion.  I have written a novel, a collection of middle grade short stories and several picture books. My goal is to use language and art to spread positivity and create a more accepting world!
